Welcome from the Principal
Bandon Grammar School was founded in 1642 and has developed from our Church of Ireland ethos a strong values system with respect at its core. Our mission is to promote excellence in all enabling students to deliver their best in their preferred field. We aim to help our students to develop as well-rounded individuals within a community where moral values such as honesty, fairness, personal integrity and sensitivity to the needs of others are nurtured. Students are encouraged to take responsibility, leading to growth in confidence and self-esteem so that everyone may come to excel in their own unique way, able to make optimum use of life opportunities while in school and beyond.
Choosing a school for your child is one of the most significant choices one can make as a parent. Here at Bandon Grammar School, we see it as a huge privilege to educate young people as they grow from children in 1st Year through to adulthood as they leave at the end of 6th Year.
Academic achievement is central to the purpose of any school experience, and we take that responsibility very seriously here with a diverse and innovative curriculum. We understand that school is the place where young people are very likely to meet friends and develop hobbies that will last a lifetime and take great pride in our diverse extracurricular programme which is developed to foster personal growth, teamwork, creativity and communication skills.
